Magit Cacoon is truly one of the most exciting exports Tel Aviv has to offer in current times. A gifted artist at the vanguard of the underground dance scene for over a decade, Magit Cacoon has seen exponential growth in her success and reputation as a globally renowned DJ and producer. As comfortable behind the decks as she is a producer, Magit’s career trajectory has skyrocketed after successful periods in Tel Aviv and Berlin.
Over a century of jewel-encrusted production credits adorn her portfolio with music signed to such blue-chip outfits as Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels and Rebellion imprints, and a 2015 debut album for Berlin based, Upon You Records, all painting a vivid picture of the Magit Cacoon success story. Not content to rest on her laurels, a plethora of original material has also found its way onto the likes of Second State, Sincopat and DGTL in 2020. Drawing high-profile attention through her music, a growing number of A-list producers have also featured playing a role in a raft of successful releases supported by a leading cast of DJ royalty that includes Solomun, Sven Vath and Dixon. Moreover, it is with English lead-singer and superstar producer, Steven Wilson – renowned for his work with the likes of UK rock acts, Yes, Marillion and Tears For Fears – that saw Magit co-produce “Perfect Life” for KATERMUKKE in June 2018 after her official edit of the pivotal “Voyage 34” for Wilson’s Porcupine Tree outfit back in 2011.
A parallel career behind the decks has been met with equal success, not least through a nomination for “DJ Award for Best Breakthrough” artist in 2018 as the Israeli superstar captivates world audiences with a cross-genre sound. As part of Solomun’s Diynamic crew, global DJ performances at premier nightclub events and festivals including the ‘Get Lost’, ‘Melt’ and ‘Fusion’ festivals’, ‘Day Zero’ and the world-famous ‘Tomorrowland’, have all been regular bookings for the Israeli’s tour schedule as well as performances around the world for DC10 and the iconic Fabric, London.
A highly successful period in Berlin saw a 3-year spell hosting the “Sweat Lodge Radio” show while standout performances across the city saw mesmerising sets at Watergate Club, Panorana Bar, Kater Blau and the legendary Bar 25 to name but a few. In addition, her performance for Crosstown Rebel’s ‘Get Lost’ Miami Music Week party was voted best set by Electronic Groove in 2018.
A huge social media following and similarly sized talent continues to see Magit at the top of promoters booking lists and her ability to cast a spell over audiences with an array of bewitching sets on a musical journey of power and poise, confirms Magit Cacoon’s inimitable talent. Even the recent coronavirus pandemic failed to dent her ambition and desire to perform for her fans as hundreds of thousands tuned in to Israel’s popular Network 13 channel to witness her stunning set for the Independence Day Festival.
Not content with a leading role in the world of production and a global DJ touring schedule, Magit has also achieved notable success with the Girl Scout label. Full of tech and deep house bombs, the imprint has included contributions from the likes of &Me, Nico Purman, Oliver Deutschmann and more. However, now is the time for Magit Cacoon to begin a new chapter in an incandescent career that burns brighter still with each new venture. Enter Mago Music, a new imprint that provides an opportunity for the curation and collaboration of an eclectic mix of artists and styles in addition to providing a vehicle for her own releases.
Success, passion and talent are recurring themes that are consistently part of Magit Cacoon’s rising career trajectory. With no sign of a downturn, Magit continues to find her varied skillset very much in-demand.
