Hailing from Catania, Sicily, Toto Chiavetta productions and playful approach to DJing reflects the island of rebel spirit. The Italian maestro has been bubbling away for a number of years now having first emerged with releases on genre defining labels such as Diynamic, Innervisions, Defected and Yoruba. In 2019 he launched his own Borders of Light label, a space for him to further refine his own sound and act as an incubator for emerging artists deserving of a platform to share their creations.
Lockdown served as a chance to recalibrate and focus in the studio. His output during this time included an enchanting remix of Joseph Capriati’s ‘Love Changed Me’ released on Metamorfosi Vol.1 earlier this year. This preceded his remix of Howling ‘Phases’ featured on the Alpine Groves 12 compilation which came out on Musicpark Records. His landmark EP to date is the 4 track Anti – Loudness EP produced for Solomun’s world famous Diynamic Label with the lead track ‘Oceans’ accruing over 150,000 plays on Spotify that dropped at the end of 2020. Going further back that year another standout release in his weighty back catalog came out on the prestigious Innervisions label helmed by Ame & Dixon . The 7 track mini album ‘Setting of A Ceremony’ was widely acclaimed and supported by a wide breadth of leading house and techno artists. Looking forward Toto has a slew of forthcoming remixes and releases primed for some of the biggest labels in the scene.
